FAQ
Can I install Wall Design panels onto my room’s framework (2 x 4)?
We recommend having an even and solid substrate in order for the glue to be evenly distributed on the back of the panel. An existing drywall or plywood covered wall is preferable. That being said, if you strap between the 2 x 4’s with wood slats at 12’’ intervals, it is doable. Since the panels are glued and nailed, installing them only to the 2 x 4’s can cause the panels to become askew and the joints would open over time since a house is in constant movement no matter how minute. For more information, please see our installation section.
Where can I find your products? Can I purchase directly from you?
We do not sell on a direct basis. We prefer having solid partnerships with distributors and retailers. Our HDF Wall Design decorative panels are available in most Home improvement centers (Please refer to our Retailers section). Our D3D collection is not available through standard home improvement centers but through decorative boutiques and certain decoration departments at select home improvement centers. In the case of D3D, send us an e-mail through the website with your area and we will direct you to the closest retailer.
How do I cover the joints between the panels/tiles?
Our panels are made to be butted up one next to the other. The joints are already almost invisible. Once the installation is complete, just a touch of the paint/stain on the tip of your paint brush passed on the joint should make it disappear.
Can Wall Design be installed in a bathroom?
In a large, well ventilated area it is not a problem but installing in a smaller, non-ventilated area is not recommended. In one case or the other, it is definitely not recommended to install in or above a shower stall or on a bath tub surround.
What type of paint is recommended?
The beauty of our panels is they accept not only paint but stain as well! As far as painting goes, just paint as you would a drywall. Whether an oil or water based paint is used, just apply your primer coat and then your color choice. You can also stain our panels. Once stained, the panels will have a real wood look to them. Two coats of stain (stains now come in gel format and are much easier to work with) and your panel will come to life!
I went to my retailer and the model I want is not one they keep on the shelf.
Any retailer that sells Wall Design can order any model they don’t keep in inventory.
With all we hear about the environment and volatile organic compounds, is your product a health risk?
We are proud of our association with suppliers that are green and conscious of our environment and our health. Our panels meet or exceed all norms established by the governing regulatory agencies.
Is the product flammable?
Our panels are classified as CLASS C for flame spread. Please see your municipal regulations with regards to placing on or around fireplaces and such.

Coordinated Wall Layouts
Coordinated wall layouts are hard to achieve, especially if frames are of various sizes and shapes. However, attractive layouts will enhance the plainest decors. This is why it is essential to be well prepared BEFORE hanging everything. Here are a few simple ways to get ready.
